Frequently Asked Questions for Mamas On the Go

1. What do I need to bring to class?

All participants should bring an all-purpose or jogging stroller, a towel, and water. Other recommendations are sunscreen, hat, snacks, and an extra layer of clothing for you and the little ones.

2. How old should my baby be?

Babies should be at least 6 weeks or older. New mothers must have completed their postpartum check-ups.

3. What if my baby gets fussy?

All attempts will be made to keep children entertained. Please feel free to tend to your baby the way only you know best and join back in when you can. Do not worry that you will bother other participants. We are all in the same boat!

4. What if there is bad weather?

Dress yourself and baby in layers and bring a stroller cover (available at most children's stores). Mamas On the Go will rarely be cancelled. If you have a question about cancellation you can call your Fit Mamas instructor.

5. How often should I come to class?

Fit Mamas recommends that you are physically active at least 3 days a week.  If you would like additional support, you can set up a private training session or nutritional consultation with your Fit Mamas instructor.

6. Can I bring a friend or family member to class?

One family member (other than stroller-riding children) can attend class free with any paying Fit Mamas participant.

7. Is Mamas On the Go safe for pregnant women as well as new mothers?

Yes. Pregnant women may participate with a physician's note and the absence of any contra-indications.  New moms must be at least 6 weeks postpartum or 8 weeks postpartum for c-sections and have completed their postpartum check-up.

8. Do I need any special fitness equipment?

NO.  We will only be using your body, stroller, towel, and other things we may find at the park like benches and monkey bars!

9. Do I have to be in shape?

No. Mamas on the Go is geared for all excercise levels. Your instructor will help you determine your proper intensity level and provide modifications when necessary.
